AMES, Iowa, June 16, 2020 – Ag Startup Engine (ASE), at the Iowa State University (ISU) Research Park, announced that it is welcoming their first Silver Planter Sponsor, Beck’s. Headquartered in Atlanta, Indiana, Beck's is the largest family-owned, retail seed company in the United States. Beck’s is excited to support ASE’s efforts in early seed financing and mentorship of agricultural entrepreneurs.
The Ag Startup Engine effort was launched over three years ago to help address two fundamental gaps that prevent agricultural startups and entrepreneurs from being more successful in Iowa: early, seed-stage investment and organized mentorship from renowned Iowan and Midwestern entrepreneurs.
“We’re excited to support ASE and their efforts to support entrepreneurs in agriculture,” said Scott Beck, President at Beck’s. “At Beck’s we are focused on bringing value to the American farmer and ASE provides us with the opportunity to meet startups and founders we can partner with to continue our mission of helping farmers succeed.”
“The Silver Planter Sponsorship supports the operational efforts of ASE while exclusively connecting our portfolio company founders to the sponsor,” said Joel Harris, co-director of ASE. “Beck’s has been one of the fastest growth seed businesses in the United States, a result of effective innovation and hard work. We look forward to integrating Beck’s into the Ag Startup Engine community and appreciate what their team will bring.”
Other sponsor levels are available including Golden Grade and Platinum Harvester. Ag Startup Engine is actively looking for companies to finance and accept into their program.
